In an attempt to continue practicing my Italian, I encouraged myself to watch a documentary on the fanaticism of Star Trek in Italy: TREK IT!. The documentary is brief (in comparison with others) but very beautiful. It describes how the beginnings of Star Trek show were in italy, and specifically how fans of the show found a way to meet and build the legendary STIC (Star Trek Italian Club), and the magazines and conventions.

I miss Star Trek a lot. After Picard, which was beautiful and emotionally perfect in my humble opinion, I didn't dare to continue with other series. But I think it's time to embrace some of the new creations in the ST universe.
And speaking of Picard, did I tell you that I got tickets to see Patrick Stewart present his book Making It So at the London Literature Festival, in October?

I might need to add that I couldn't get into Prime Video Italy, so I used the video that was shared on the Star Trek Italy Telegram Group, and my talented hacker boyfriend ripped the subtitles for me (EN/IT) from his own Italian Prime account (in case I needed them, and I did)

TREK IT!

ST:Discovery and ST:Strange New Worlds are fantastic, Star Trek for grownups. Discover was divisive because of the tone and the season-long story arc (instead of being episodic), but it turned a lot of assumptions upside-down and I was sorely disappointed when it was canceled. SNW is more like the original series in tone.
